US Department of Defense: How APC Keeps the Data Centers Running

As CIO at an Air Force Base in Alaska, David Brand is responsible for keeping a critical data center up and running. That can be a challenge when you have to share backup generators with other government facilities in the area. To compensate, he uses APC by Schneider Electric UPSs that deliver a minimum of 12 hours of run time for his data center, a strategy that worked "perfectly" in the most recent outage -- even though the outage lasted 48 hours.
