A Look Back at the Data and Asset Management Software User Conference

November 20, 2015 Candice Hudson

Our Data and Asset Management Software User Conference for Avantis, eDNA, EBS and PRiSM customers in Chicago this October provided a great opportunity for peers and software experts to share ideas, discuss trends, and talk about software feedback and enhancements. The three day event included technical sessions, industry roundtables, demo booths, hands-on training, and case study presentations, among numerous networking opportunities.

We were excited to share roadmap presentations announcing current and planned software updates. In the Monday afternoon session, Avantis customers previewed the new Avantis.PRO 6.0, which will be released in 2016. See a video about the progression of Avantis over the years here. Avantis PRiSM updates included a new internal alert management workflow, asset health ranking for better maintenance prioritization, and case management for capturing open issues, tracking results and easily communicating findings.

The Wonderware eDNA track highlighted symmetric redundancy updates for replicating data between redundant nodes and HTML 5 for eDNA Web, enabling display on mobile devices and non-Windows desktops. Wonderware EBS discussed the new Budget Module that allows greater flexibility when tracking, reporting and budgeting utility cost and consumption data at the building or commodity level.

During the general session on Tuesday, Dr. Ravi Gopinath, Executive Vice President of the Software Business, confirmed the company’s commitment to its customers through continued growth and focus on technology leadership, operational excellence and specialized industry solutions. Rob McGreevy, Vice President – Information, Operations and Asset Management, discussed Schneider Electric’s cloud and mobility strategy. Rob also talked about the company’s end-to-end Enterprise Asset Performance Management solution for real-time data collection, analysis, action, visualization and optimization. Also at the conference, we recognized several of our customers for original and advanced uses of our software solutions during our Awards Ceremony. The Avantis PRiSM Catch of the Year was awarded to Duke Energy for early identification of a steam turbine rotor issue, estimated at more than $7 million in savings. CF Industries received the Avantis.PRO Asset Excellence Award for incorporating new functionalities that have enabled the company to achieve significant cost savings through streamlining processes, aggregated sourcing and performance analysis.

eDNA customers were also presented with several awards. South Carolina Electric & Gas (SCE&G) received the eDNA Innovation Award for best real-time data management infrastructure for the impressive display of dynamic eDNA View screens in their operations and control room. We presented National Grid with the eDNA Most Creative Custom Application Award for developing an application that displays projected solar and wind forecasts, in addition to voltage forecasts. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission accepted the eDNA Best View Display Award for creating a comprehensive display that shows the vital indicators for water storage, flow, power and quality across sites.
