InfraStruxure® Solution Gets an A for Reliability, Scalability
“The InfraStruxure solution delivered what we needed, both immediately and in the future. I can’t predict what changes are ahead of us, but . . . I believe that the APC equipment we have installed will accommodate those changes easily.”

“Nebo School District in South Utah County connects 26 elementary schools and 13 secondary schools on a fiber-optic network to the district office in Spanish Fork. Here we share a number of critical databases and provide connectivity and data storage. The servers and databases are essential to the successful operation of the district since they house the financial and student information databases as well as enable Internet access for the entire school district. As with many districts, sufficient funding and personnel to keep up with demand is a challenge.
“Our data center was too small, was inadequately cooled, and didn’t have enough power. We dreaded power outages because the UPS systems were inadequate and we had no backup generator online. We needed to build a new facility that included a new data center, cost-effectively. A nearby school district showed us their new data center and we liked their InfraStruxure® installation so much that we chose to go with APC without shopping around.
“We asked APC to help us design a new data center that was adequately cooled and would provide sufficient rack space and power to allow for future growth. The InfraStruxure solution delivered what we needed, both immediately and in the future. The NetBotz® appliances and StruxureWare Data Center Expert software gives us the ability to monitor power, cooling, security, and environmental conditions. The InRow® RC chilled-water cooling solution gives us a predictable cooling architecture as we continue to add servers and other equipment to meet the increasing demand for technology in education.
“In addition, our APC rep was very responsive when we discovered at the last minute that we needed to move everything to the other side of the room. He drew up a new plan and got it to us right away so that work could proceed.
“Our InfraStruxure system is now protecting, cooling, and monitoring all our servers, switches, phone equipment, routers, and more. Over time, we have room for growth with sufficient power and cooling, including an interface with the backup generator.
“I can’t predict what changes are ahead of us, but I am certain that they will come because of the dynamic nature of technology. I believe that the APC equipment we have installed will accommodate those changes easily. I am confident that APC helped us build a reliable data center that will deliver the uptime the district needs.”
