InfraStruxure Solution Makes Internet Company the Host with the Most Uptime
“With today’s high-density servers, the power, cooling, and availability expectations are much different and the old data center designs do not work. When we decided to build our own data center, we chose APC by Schneider Electric because they address today’s issues.”

“SuperNet provides Internet hosting and services for small to midsize customers. Our data center is the backbone of our operations: we have backups to backups and contingency plans to our contingency plan. We can't tolerate any downtime in the always-on Internet world. We service over 10,000 customers via the Internet, and 75 percent of our cash flow comes from online services.
“The IT field changes so fast that setting a five-year vision is very challenging. And many data centers in use today were built based on requirements for IBM mainframes from 40 years ago! We were experiencing serious heat and power restrictions in the colocation center where our equipment was located, and we needed to address cooling issues. With today’s high-density servers, the power, cooling, and availability expectations are much different and the old data center designs do not work. When we decided to build our own data center, we chose APC by Schneider Electric because they address today’s issues.
“We wanted expandable, high-density cooling and power for our systems, and we felt APC does a great job with this. The InfraStruxure solution with Symmetra power protection and InRow Cooling gave us everything we needed. We also chose StruxureWare Data Center Expert for management software because of its easy integration with the hardware, and NetBotz for monitoring. We sell directly to people who know this business; they need to feel safe. Having APC in our data center adds to their peace of mind.
“One thing that makes InfraStruxure unique is the attention to detail in how things are designed. APC’s n+1 approach to fault tolerance makes it very simple to add capacity as we grow, all the while maintaining fault tolerance. We also appreciate its modular design; being able to scale up and add capacity as we grow made the capital expenditure more attractive. We didn't have to pay for a whole data center when we only needed half, and were able to delay 40 percent of the total costs upfront until customer demand dictates expansion.
“Presentation of the data center is also very important to us. We do a lot of walk-throughs and demos, and InfraStruxure is a very attractive, sleek system that inspires confidence. In the future, we plan to build more data centers, and we see APC as a mission-critical partner in our success.”
